2019 Best Graduating Students Award: Matters Arising

During the 2019 Convocation of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene, the best graduating Student Award was erroneously conferred on EFFIONG, JOHN OKON with registration number AKP/BMG/ACC/HNC2016/2172 of the Department of Accountancy and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.65 but after due investigation by the Institution, it was found out that NYONG, IMAOBONG UBONG with registration number AKP/ASC/SLT/HND2016/M0517 of the Department of Biological Science had 3.75 which made her the Overall Best Graduating Student for 2019 in the Institution.

To this end, Management on the recommendation of the Academic Board has withdrawn the 2019 Best Graduating Student Award from EFFIONG, JOHN OKON and confer it upon NYONG, IMAOBONG UBONG of the Department of Biological Science.

While congratulating NYONG, IMAOBONG UBONG, the Management regrets all inconveniences suffered by EFFIONG, JOHN OKON as a result of the mix-up.

  • The entry requirement into the Higher National Diploma in Computer Science, Statistics, and Science Laboratory Technology is at least a Lower Credit pass at the National Diploma level obtained from an NBTE –Accredited Institution. Candidate must have satisfied the minimum requirements for the National Diploma Programme in Computer Science, Statistics, and Science Laboratory Technology respectively, and completed one year of post-ND Industrial work experience.
  • Candidates with a pass level in National Diploma in Statistics, Computer Science or Science Laboratory Technology obtained from NBTE –accredited Programme and who would produce evidence of at least two years post-ND industrial work experience, may also apply.

2 SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT STUDIES (a) Accountancy (b) Business Administration (c) Office Technology and Management

(2a) The entry requirement into the Higher National Diploma in Accountancy, Business Administration and Office Technology & Management is at least a lower Credit Pass at the National Diploma level obtained from an NBTE-accredited institution in Accountancy, Business Administration, Office Technology & Management, Marketing, Banking & Finance, and Public Administration respectively and completed the one year post –ND Industrial work experience.

(2b) Candidates with a pass level in National Diploma in Accountancy, Business Administration, Office Technology & Management, Marketing, Banking & Finance, and Public Administration and who would produce evidence of at least two years post-ND Industrial work experience, may also apply.

3 SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION ARTS Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication

(3a) The entry requirement into the Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication is at least a lower Credit Pass in National Diploma in Mass Communication obtained from an NBTE-accredited institution. Candidates must have also satisfied the minimum requirements for the National Diploma Programme in Mass Communication and completed one-year post-ND industrial work experience.

(3b) Candidates with a Pass level in National Diploma in Mass Communication and who would produce Evidence of at least two years post–ND industrial work experience may also apply.

4 SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING Higher National Diploma in: Electrical/Electronic Engineering with options in: Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Instrumentation and Control Power and Machines

(4a) The entry requirement into the Higher National Diploma in Electrical /Electronic Engineering Technology is at least National Diploma at a Lower Credit level obtained from the NBTE–accredited Electrical/ Electronic Engineering Programme. Candidates must have also satisfied the minimum requirements for the National Diploma Programme in Electrical / Electronic Engineering and completed the one-year industrial work experience.

(4b) Candidates with a pass level in National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and who have had at least two years post-ND industrial work experience may also apply.

5 SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES Higher National Diploma in: Architectural Technology Building Technology Estate Management & Valuation Quantity Surveying Urban and Regional Planning

(5a) The entry requirements into the Higher National Diploma in Architectural Technology, Building Technology, Estate Management & Valuation, Quantity Surveying, and Urban & Regional Planning are at least a National Diploma at Lower Credit Level obtained from an NBTE-accredited institution.

Candidates must have satisfied the minimum requirements for the National Diploma program in Architectural Technology, Building Technology, Estate Management & Valuation, Quantity Surveying, and Urban & Regional Planning and completed the one-year industrial work experience scheme.

(5b) Candidates with a pass level in National Diploma in Architectural Technology, Building Technology, Estate Management & Valuation, Quantity Surveying or Urban & Regional Planning and who have had at least two years post–ND industrial work experience scheme may also apply.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

  1. Candidates should visit the school website https://www.akwaibompoly.edu.ng. Click the online application and then generate an invoice with the following details: Phone number and Name.
  2. Candidates should go to any Commercial Bank with their invoice (RRR Number) to purchase an electronic application PIN and make a payment of N 8,000.00 (eight thousand naira only) and obtain a PIN (inclusive of Bank and other charges)
  3. Application should be completed by visiting https://www/akwaibompoly.edu.ng with the obtained pin to complete the application with the following steps: Highlight ‘’Admissions’ and select ‘’Application Forms’ then select your choice of program and insert the obtained PIN (Confirmation Order) in the appropriate form to complete the application.

Ahead of the forthcoming accreditation visit by the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, to Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, the Rector, Dr. Moses Umobong says the goal of the institution’s Governing Council and Management is to ensure that the institution gets full accreditations for all courses offered in the Polytechnic.

Dr. Umobong stated this on Wednesday in his office when he received a donation of 50 HP laptops from Nigeria’s leading IT Services and IT Consulting Firm, Tenece Professional Services Limited (Tenece) Tenece Professional Services Limited (Tenece) said, the 100% accreditation target is not only in line with the vision of the Institution’s Visitor and Governor of the State, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel but also in tandem with Management’s vision of ensuring that Akwapoly is repositioned to play it’s envisaged role as Nigeria’s foremost technological and entrepreneurial center of excellence in the country.

He called on all staff of the institution to imbibe the spirit of teamwork and collective success to achieve envisaged goals and objectives, stating that the success of the Polytechnic with regard to the accreditation exercise is not a personal success but the success of all stakeholders of the Polytechnic Community and the State.

He commended Tenece for the donation of the laptops, stating that apart from portraying the company as a responsible corporate entity that places a high premium on its Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, the laptops will go a long way in ensuring the complete overhaul, repositioning and revitalization of the Institution’s Computer Science Department and get it effectively, efficiency and digitally ready for the accreditation exercise.

Dr. Umobong called on other companies and well-meaning individuals to emulate Tenece’s gesture towards supporting the Polytechnic to achieve its full potential through the donation and provision of critical infrastructure and educational support materials and equipment that will help create the much-needed conducive learning environment for both staff and students of the Polytechnic.

 

Presenting the laptops on behalf of the Managing Director and CEO of Tenece, Mr. Kingsley Eze, the company’s representative, Mr. Uche Ofoegbu , said the donation of the laptops to the Polytechnic was in line with the Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, the policy of the company and a further demonstration that Tenece as a company, will always be a worthy partner and ally to the institution in its drive to play a leading role in the Information Communication Technology, ICT, sector of both the educational sector and the Nigerian economy.

Present during the brief presentation ceremony include the Deputy Rector, Engr Dr. Okon Osung, the Polytechnic’s Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Mercy Ukpanah, the Bursar, Mr. Ekong Ituen, Deputy Registrar/Secretary to Council, Mr. Ini Ebong, the Dean School of Engineering, Engr Immaculata S.   1. Original copy of SSCE/NECO/GCE certificate (s)
  2. Original copy of ND certificate or Certified Statement of ND Result.
  3. Original copy of Certificate of origin.
  4. Two file jackets
  5. Two passports photograph.
  6. Evidence of completion of post- ND one year industrial attachment..

26th Matriculation Ceremony

Akwa lbom State Polytechnic lkot Osurua, is pleased to inform the 2020/2021 newly admitted ND I students that the earlier postponed 26th Matriculation Ceremony shall now be held on Wednesday 20th October, 2021 at the Polytechnic Assembly Hall at 11.00am prompt.

Also, parents and guardians are advised to attend the ceremony with less number of guests to enable the institution to maintain the current Covid-19 protocols on campus.

All inconveniences the earlier postponement might have caused the concerned students, parents and guardians are deeply regretted.

     Visit the Polytechnic website https://akwaibompoly.edu.ng/  Click on the link “Portal” or visit https://portal.akwaibompoly.edu.ng/
     Click on “Verify Admission Status” to create login details.
     Enter your Jamb Number.
     Click on submit button to verify your account
  2. PROFILE DETAILS
    i. Change password
     Enter your username and password and click on the Login button.
     Click on change password to change your password.
     Enter the old password and the new password, confirm new password.
     Click change password button. ii. Fill Profile
     Click the profile details menu
     Complete the profile and click the Submit Button
     Ensure you Update your Level to the current Level
     Print the Student profile information page
  3. ACCEPTANCE
     Login to the Portal with your username and password
     Click the ACCEPTANCE menu and select “Acceptance Invoice”
     Select the Session from the drop-down option and Click on Submit menu to generate your payment invoice
     Print your invoice and proceed to any bank to pay using your RRR Payment code on the invoice.
     Alternatively, you can make payment using the online payment options with credit/debit cards such as Verve, Visa, MasterCards.
     After successful payment in the bank or online
     Click the “ACCEPTANCE” menu and select “Pay Acceptance fee”
     Click the Print Acknowledgment slip to get your Acceptance fee e-receipt
  4. SCHOOL FEES PAYMENT PROCESS
     Login to the portal with your username and password
     Select the “School fees” menu then click on “Pay school fees” to generate your payment invoice
     Select the required session and payment type
     Print your payment invoice contain the RRR code and proceed to any bank for payment.
     Alternatively, you can make payment using the online payment options with credit/debit cards such as Verve, Visa, MasterCards. Note: You must ensure a payment invoice is generated on the portal for the online payment option.
     After successful payment in bank, return to the portal and login with your account details to print AkwaPoly School fees e-receipt with the RRR code on the invoice.
  5. COURSE REGISTRATION
     Click the course registration menu and select the Register Courses menu.
     Select the session and semester and click the submit button.
     Select your courses for that semester and click the submit button
     Print the registered courses,
  6. SIGN OUT
     Click the close menu, this takes you back to Login page.
